Last night, I watched a live telecast of the memorial service for Michael Jackson at channel 7. If it was not for the fact that it's already 2:30 in the morning, I would've finished watching it. Imagine how happy I was when I found out that Q tv scheduled a replay. I was watching it with my parents and at the end, after Paris' little message and when Man in the Mirror started playing, I lost it. My eyes started tearing up but I tried to keep myself from crying because I don't want to be teased by my parents. Then the lights inside Staples Center went out except for this one spotlight in the center of the stage. This emphasized the fact that the King of Pop is dead.
I believe that a true artist can stand the test of time and we can see that through his music. In that golden casket is the man behind "We Are the World", "Heal the World", "Will You Be There", "Earth Song", "Black or White" and "Man in the Mirror" -- a few of his inspirational songs that are written for the world, nature, for the children and for each one of us. In that golden casket is the man behind "Thriller", "Billie Jean", "Smooth Criminal", "Beat It" and "Bad" -- just some of his songs that we know too well or probably still listen to. In that golden casket is the man who introduced "moonwalk" to us.
